Verified by Visa and MasterCard SecureCode are rapidly growing programs that offer an extra level of protection to enrolled Visa and MasterCard cardholders. This is achieved by requiring them to enter a password or PIN when making online purchases with participating merchants.

Merchants that choose to participate will benefit from a nearly 70% reduction in chargebacks that stem from disputed (often fraudulent) charges. This benefit of ‘chargeback blocking’ is automatic, and protection applies to both US and international transactions.
