Smart Tip: Prevent Domain Name Hijacking Domain names could become easier to hijack due to a recent change in ICANN's domain transfer rules. Under the new rules, domain transfer requests will be automatically approved in five days unless the current registrar explicitly denies them. It's vital to maintain an active address on the Whois record because the current registrar will send an email to that address asking for approval of any transfers. Upon receipt of a transfer request, you will have five days to approve OR reject the request. It's imperative to keep your address up-to-date to prevent domain name hijacks and keep communication lines open.
