Creating A
Secure Password
With the growing number of hackers and malicious
users in the Internet community, usernames
and passwords have become a hot commodity.
In order to secure your information, whether
it is your SiteControl password, or email account
passwords, Hostway recommends that the following
conventions be used to create secure passwords:
- Minimum
of 8 characters
- Upper
and lower
case letters
- Special
characters
such as:
'#', '$',
'*'
- Combine
numbers
and letters
While the above is not a sure bet that you
will never have a security breach, by creating
more secure passwords, the likelihood of
having your password compromised by someone "guessing" it
becomes less and less likely.
