Can social media help your business?
Yes! Hundreds of millions of consumers already tap the Big Three (Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn). A couple tips if you're just starting:
Tip 1: Be
patient.
There may be some immediate benefits, but these networks, like many other marketing vehicles, help build sales over time. According to a 2009 Michael Stelzner report, among marketers that had invested several years in social networking, 62% reported closing business through these networks.
Tip 2: Be disciplined. Don't just set up your accounts and forget them. Keep them updated. Carve out a portion of your time weekly (or better, daily!) to keep your Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn content fresh and to grow your lists of followers,
friends and connections. Click here to learn more about how to use social media to grow sales and to learn more on each of the top social media networks.
