Web Hosting Company Honors Leading Women in Technology

Chicago—March 31, 2003—Hostway Corporation, a global leader of Web hosting services and online business tools for small- to medium-sized businesses, joined LaSalle Bank and PriceWaterhouseCoopers in sponsoring I-Street’s Women in Black awards Thursday, March 13, 2003. The Women in Black awards recognize the leading women in the high-tech arena and are some of the most prestigious awards in the country. Nominees must be leaders in the high-tech, new media or investment fields, and/or entrepreneurs in any technology-related industry or function. The Awards also provided a setting where technology leaders could convene and informally discuss the different topics facing the Chicago technology community.

Hostway chose to take part in the Women in Black event because of its commitment to diversity, technology, and entrepreneurship. "The Women in Black awards personify all of the basic ideals that Hostway stands for; we are a technology company flourishing from fruits of entrepreneurship and diversity and want to show our utmost appreciation to anyone who helps us foster this attitude even further," says John Lee, Director of Marketing at Hostway.

The Women in Black event is the first in a series of events Hostway will sponsor or present at in the next few months which launches a new initiative focused on developing and maintaining a new wave of technology through leadership and entrepreneurship in the Chicagoland area. These events include First Tuesday and The Executives Club and will be augmented with additional programs focused on technology education and entrepreneurship.
