To upload your Web site, you need to use a program that has file transfer protocol (FTP) capabilities.
Some common free FTP programs are:
Popular commercial Web design programs like Dreamweaver have “built-in” FTP capability. There is also a free Web design program with built-in FTP called NVU.
To upload your Web site, you need to connect your FTP program to your server by entering some information: Your domain name, FTP username and FTP password.
To locate your master account username and password, you need to log into SiteControl using the information from your welcome email.
Once you are in SiteControl, click the Users/Passwords link on the left-hand menu.
In the Users/Passwords section of SiteControl, scroll to the bottom and locate the Account Type: Master Account.
To the left of the words Master Account, you will see your master account username. This will be the FTP username that you enter into your FTP program.
To the right of the words Master Account, you will see a Change Password link. Click Change Password and enter a new password for the master account.
When you have entered the password twice, click the Change button.
The password you just entered will be the password you enter in your FTP program to upload your Web site.
